Pausing at the edge of the hatch, you collect a sample of the alien residue using a broken pipe and observe how it reacts under the beam of your flashlight, its surface rippling and pulsing as if alive.Gripping your wrench tightly, you squeeze into the tunnel and begin crawling toward the source of the rhythmic knocking, your flashlight casting jittery beams over the oily residue and tangled wires as the sound grows louder and more insistent.Before venturing further, you decide to slide the hatch shut behind you, using a loose piece of pipe to jam it in place, ensuring nothing—or no one—can follow you into the tunnel.Noticing a smaller offshoot from the main tunnel, you decide to veer off the direct path and crawl into the side passage, where faint, glowing symbols are etched into the walls, pulsing faintly in sync with the knocking.
