Last Alchemist
You snatch up a glowing crystal from the ground and shove it into your satchel with deliberate urgency. Raising your voice, you declare, “We’re out of time—they’ll be through any moment!” before motioning for the woman to follow and slipping into the shadows near the chamber’s edge, preparing to catch the attackers off guard as they enter. You face the trembling woman, her knuckles white as they grip her cloak. "Listen, I don’t know what they’re after, but if we’re going to make it out of this, you’ll need to trust me," you say firmly. "Do you have anything—anything at all—that can help? I’ll buy you time, but we have to act now."You glance at the woman, her wide eyes filled with fear, and then turn toward the shimmering barrier. “Whoever’s after you, they’re not giving up easily,” you say, your voice calm but firm. “If they want you that badly, maybe it’s time we find out why.” You step closer to the barrier, your voice rising to carry through the quicksilver energy. “You’re wasting your time out there! Tell me what you want, or you’ll regret testing my patience.”Surveying the chamber for anything useful, you spot the shimmering quicksilver wall under strain and pull out a cluster of sigils from your pouch. Pressing them firmly against the wall's edges, you chant a fortifying spell and turn to the woman, your voice sharp. "We’re running out of time—if there’s something you’re hiding, speak up now."
