Last Alchemist

You lock eyes with Kael for a moment, then shift your gaze to the ward, your expression unreadable. “Not here. If you mean what you say, come with me—quietly,” you state firmly before turning toward a side chamber, your senses heightened for any hint of treachery from Kael. You narrow your eyes, keeping your stance defensive but easing the tension in your shoulders. "Trust isn't given lightly, Kael," you say, your voice steady. "Convince me you're not a threat, and maybe we can figure out what you need from me."Though the ward remains intact, you can’t shake the feeling that Kael’s presence might be a prelude to something more dangerous. You subtly adjust the sigils etched into the ward’s frame, strengthening its protective weave. “I’ll hear you out,” you say, your voice measured, “but don’t think for a second that I’m letting my guard down.”You close the distance between yourself and the ward with measured intent, your eyes fixed on Kael. “Kael,” you state in a controlled voice, “if you’ve traveled this far to see me, you must have a reason. Speak plainly, or don’t speak at all—I’m not here to entertain riddles.” Your gaze sharpens, searching his face for any sign of uncertainty or deceit.
