The Investigator
Evelyn cautiously enters the shadowy building, her flashlight illuminating the layers of dust coating the floor. With her hand hovering near her holstered weapon, she ascends the groaning staircase, her ears straining for any hint of movement.As Evelyn enters the building, a sharp noise from above grabs her attention just in time to see a massive object tumbling down the stairwell. Instinctively, she leaps to the side, her pulse racing as she scans the upper floors for any clue about what caused the chaos.Evelyn opts to scale the rickety fire escape on the building's side, her hands gripping the wet, corroded metal for balance. With rain streaming down her face, she carefully makes her way up toward the dimly glowing window above.As Evelyn steps toward the building entrance, a cloaked figure materializes from the dim alley behind her. Without a word, they press a crumpled note into her palm, their silhouette disappearing into the misty downpour before she can react.
