Rising swiftly from her chair, Evelyn leaves the unsettled witness behind without a second glance. She signals the junior officer to guide her, her hand briefly resting on the grip of her firearm as they move briskly through the hall while he struggles to articulate the urgency of the situation.Evelyn lifts her hand in a commanding gesture, halting the junior officer’s interruption. Locking eyes with the witness, she leans in, her voice firm and deliberate. “We’re not playing games here. Tell me everything, now.” The witness gulps audibly, their unease growing under her relentless scrutiny.Unmoved, Evelyn fixes the junior officer with a cold, unrelenting stare. “You’ve got my attention—don’t waste it. Explain,” she commands. The officer, visibly flustered, struggles to deliver his report, his fragmented words making the situation sound increasingly absurd.Evelyn gets to her feet, locking her hand around the witness's arm and pulling them up without hesitation. “You’re coming, no questions,” she asserts, her tone brooking no dissent. She gestures for the junior officer to take the lead as they move with urgency, the witness visibly trembling as they exit.
